Ooty Lake This is an artificial lake created by a man named John Sullivan way back in 1825. It has a distinct L-shape and is considered to be one of the more scenic areas on an Ooty tour. If you are on an Ooty honeymoon package, Ooty Lake is a wonderful place to spend some romantic time with your beloved new spouse. The lake itself is crystal clear and is a great place to go boating and even do some fishing, if the mood strikes you.
Charing Cross
If you are embarking on Ooty package tours and would like to do some shopping, look no further than Charing Cross. This area is an intersection of many major thoroughfares in Ooty, and offers wonderful shopping and unique places to find special gifts and souvenirs. In addition to finding souvenirs, visitors are advised to check out the vegetable market at Charing Cross; it is not far from many Ooty hotels and is a neat way to learn about the local produce and market economy.
Kodanadu's View Point
On Ooty holidays, a stop at Kodanadu's View Point is highly recommended. This interesting place features a watch tower from which you can take in commanding and scenic views of all of Ooty. From this height, you can easily see why so many travelers choose this area for their Ooty package tours. One can see the majestic River Mayor from the top of the watch tower, as it winds its way through the beautiful landscape.
Botanical Gardens
These magnificent gardens in Ooty cover an amazing 55 acres. Coming here as a great addition to any Ooty tour, and is well worth your time. These gardens display a vast array of local flora, plants and flowers and are a great way to get away from it all and enjoy a peaceful, relaxing environment. These Botanical Gardens were first put into use in 1847.
