Shimla is known as the Queen of Hill Stations and is the capital of Himachal Pradesh. It has got a scenic location and is surrounded by green hills with snow capped peaks. The spectacular cool hill accompanied by the structures made during the colonial era creates an aura which is very different from other hill stations. The cool nip in the evening air may well have you stocking up on colorful Kinnauri shawls, mufflers, and caps; Pangwali blankets from Chamba; and multicolored hand-knitted woolen socks from Lahaul. Shimla also houses some historic buildings and sights and they make for interesting and leisurely viewing.
