This evening enjoy a guided panoramic city tour of the cultural capital of Russia. View the dreamy and picturesque River Neva; see the Alexander Nevsky Monastery and Nevsky Prospect lined with the marble palaces of Russian Royalty. Soak in the rich history of St. Petersburg in the Church of the Spilled Blood, the Admiralty, St. Isaac\s Cathedral, the Winter Palace. After dinner return to your hotel.

Day 2 - St. Petersburg

This morning, drive down to Peterhof, an erstwhile residence of the Czars of yore. Visit the Grand Palace and be amazed with its fascinating & elaborate interiors. This world-famous Palace, Fountain and Park ensemble of Peterhof shines forth as a glittering landmark of Russia's aesthetic culture in the 18th and 19th centuries. Its wonderful parks, 176 fountains of various forms, majestic palaces, numerous gilded statues of ancient gods and heroes, paintings and works of art and culture make Peterhof a veritable gem of art, often called the Capital of Fountains, unique in the world.
Later visit the celebrated Hermitage Museum, one of the most important museums in the world. It houses a fabulous collection of nearly three million works of applied art, archaeological finds, coins, graphic art and paintings in six different buildings.

Day 3 - St. Petersburg

This morning proceed to see the Peter and Paul fortress. Established in 1703 by Peter the Great, the Peter and Paul Fortress has held some high-profile criminals in its prison cells, including Crime and Punishment' author Fyodor Dostoevsky and Lenin's right-hand man, Leon Trotsky.
The fortress is also home to the famous Cathedral of St Peter and Paul, the city's oldest, dating back to 1712. The cathedral's majestic bell tower and its flying angel figurine exemplify the city's architectural splendor. We then drive to the St. Isaac Cathedral which was originally the city's main church and the largest cathedral in Russia. It was built between 1818 and 1858, by the French- born architect Auguste Montferrand, to be one of the most impressive landmarks of Russian Imperial capital. One hundred and eighty years later the guilded dome of St. Isaac's still dominates the skyline of St. Petersburg. This evening, enjoy a boat ride along the canals of St. Petersburg from where you can view the city's grand neoclassical architecture.

Day 4 - St. Petersburg,Moscow

Today, drive to St. Isaac's Cathedral, the main church of the Russian Empire. The cathedral was under construction for 40 years and was decorated in an elaborate way. In the afternoon, proceed to the station for your high-speed train to Moscow. This sleek Peregrine Falcon, when it begins its renowned hunting dive, achieves speeds of 330 kilometres per hour (205 miles per hour). On arrival, after dinner transfer to the hotel through the busy city of Moscow.

Day 5 - Moscow

This morning, proceed on a guided panoramic city tour of Moscow, which includes the iconic Red Square and the stunning St. Basil\'s Cathedral with its colourful onion-shaped domes. Later, depart for the Kremlin, the walled fortress of Russia that holds much of its history, politics and religion. The walls, originally of white stone, were rebuilt in the late 15th century, in their distinctive red brick. Today, the Kremlin houses four cathedrals, three palaces and two museums and is the official residence of the Russian President. It holds many treasures of the former Czars. What was once the Kremlin's Armoury Chamber, has been made into a museum of sorts. Later, stroll down Arbat Street, now an extensive and enthralling pedestrian walkway, filled with interesting shops and restaurants. In the evening, enjoy the world famous Russian Circus. After dinner, return to your hotel.

Day 6 - Moscow

This morning, travel to Sergiev Possad. The history of the city of Sergiev Posad closely connected with the name of Saint Sergiy Radonezhskiy, who, when he became a monarch, founded The Troitse-Sergiev monastery. Today it is an active monastery. In 1340 monk Sergius of Radonezh founded a small wooden temple deep in the midst of Russian forest, and gradually it became the biggest monastery in Russia. For many centuries, this tomb has been the place of pilgrimage for orthodox believers. Visit to Troitse Sergiev Monastery. The Trinity Lavra of St.Sergiusis the most important Russian monastery and the spiritual centre of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Arrive Udaipur and transfer to your hotel. Set on the shores of Lake Pichola and surrounded by hills, Udaipur grew in complete contrast to the harsh deserts of the rest of Rajasthan. As capital of the old Mewar State it was the only Rajput stronghold to uphold its Hindu allegiance in the face of Muslim invasion. This fairy tale city, with its marble palaces and lakes surrounded by a ring of hills, was founded by Maharana Udai Singh in 1559. The city is dominated by massive City Palace, which overlooks Lake Pichola with its romantic island palaces. Day 2 - Udaipur

After breakfast proceed for half day city tour of Udaipur visiting the City Palace and Museum. The largest palace complex in India, it is a blend of Mughal and Rajput influences. Also see the 17th century Jagdish temple, drive around the Fatehsagar Lake, and visit the Sahelion ki Bari (the Garden for the Maids of Honour), an ornamental pleasure garden with fountains and marble kiosks. Later visit the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandir or the Folk Art Museum. Later in the evening take a boat ride on the 4 km long and 3 km wide Lake Pichola, which is fringed with hills, palaces, havelis, ghats, embankments and temples and offers spectacular views of the city. Day 3 - Udaipur,Kumbhalgarh

After breakfast drive to Kumbhalgarh; arrive Kumbhalgarh and transfer to your hotel. Kumbhalgarh, is one of the finest examples of defensive fortifications in Rajasthan. The 15th century f ort commands an important strategic position and gives superb views over the surroundings. The 36 km long walls enclose palaces, gardens, temples and water storage facilities. The fort is believed to have been taken only once in its history. There is also a wildlife sanctuary here, known for wolves. Other wildlife found here includes leopards, antelopes and sloth bears. Day 4 - Kumbhalgarh,Ranakpur

After breakfast drive to Ranakpur enroute visiting Ranakpur temples is the largest Jain temple complex in India and dates to the 15th century. The main temple is dedicated to Adinath, the first Tirthankar. Intricate carvings detail mythological figures, patterns and motifs on the walls, pillars and domes. There are 1444 ornately carved marble pillars in the complex and none of them are similar. The beautiful lace-like interiors of the domes are a superb example of western Indian temple style. Surya temple and other Jain temples are side attractions. (Temples open only at 1200 Hrs. Leather belts, footwear, bare legs and black clothing not allowed) Later transfer to hotel in Ranakpur. Day 1 - Udaipur

Arrive Udaipur and transfer to your hotel. Set on the shores of Lake Pichola and surrounded by hills, Udaipur grew in complete contrast to the harsh deserts of the rest of Rajasthan. As capital of the old Mewar State it was the only Rajput stronghold to uphold its Hindu allegiance in the face of Muslim invasion. This fairy tale city, with its marble palaces and lakes surrounded by a ring of hills, was founded by Maharana Udai Singh in 1559. The city is dominated by massive City Palace, which overlooks Lake Pichola with its romantic island palaces. Day 2 - Udaipur

After breakfast proceed for half day city tour of Udaipur visiting the City Palace and Museum. The largest palace complex in India, it is a blend of Mughal and Rajput influences. Also see the 17th century Jagdish temple, drive around the Fatehsagar Lake, and visit the Sahelion ki Bari (the Garden for the Maids of Honour), an ornamental pleasure garden with fountains and marble kiosks. Later visit the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandir or the Folk Art Museum. Later in the evening take a boat ride on the 4 km long and 3 km wide Lake Pichola, which is fringed with hills, palaces, havelis, ghats, embankments and temples and offers spectacular views of the city. Day 3 - Udaipur,Kumbhalgarh

After breakfast drive to Kumbhalgarh; arrive Kumbhalgarh and transfer to your hotel. Kumbhalgarh, is one of the finest examples of defensive fortifications in Rajasthan. The 15th century f ort commands an important strategic position and gives superb views over the surroundings. The 36 km long walls enclose palaces, gardens, temples and water storage facilities. Day 1 - Chennai

Welcome to Chennai, India\'s fourth largest city. Chennai, formerly known as Madras or Madarasapatinam, is the capital city of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. With its historic landmarks and buildings, long sandy beaches, cultural and art centers and parks, Chennai offers many interesting locations to visitors. On arrival at airport / railway station in Chennai, begin your \'Southern Odyssey Premium - Summer\' tour. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, proceed on a city tour of Chennai, visiting St. George Fort, the Kapileshwara and the Mylapore Temple and finally Marina Beach, the second longest beach in the world. The St. George Fort was probably the first British establishment in India. An architectural marvel, the structure houses a museum, and the magnificent St. Mary\'s Church. A must-visit for all history and architecture lovers! In addition to a museum, the fort also houses the legislative seat of the Tamil Nadu Government, a war memorial, lighthouse, and flagstaff among other relics. Kapileshwara temple was constructed by the Pallava in the 8th century. Located in Mylapore, the arresting architecture of the Kapileshwar temple is of the Dravidian style, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Inside the temple you can see the beautiful statues of almost all Hindu Gods. The famous Marina Beach, the pride of Chennai, is second longest beach in the world and has a wide sandy foreshore. One can see statues of heroes from Tamil culture to Samadhi of great leaders like Anna and MGR here. Walk along the Marina in the evening to cool off and eat crispy sundal and murukku. An aquarium is also located on the Marina Beach. Watching sunset and sunrise from the beach is a fascinating experience. The rest of the evening is at leisure to explore the town. Day 2 - Chennai,Tirupati

This morning, drive to Tirupati. Tirumala\'s Balaji shrine is among the most famous temples of India. It has a reputation of being one of the richest shrines in the world. On arrival,check-in to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Balaji Temple for darshan of Lord Venkateshwara. The Tirupati Tirumala Balaji Temple at Tirupati is an ancient temple located on the seventh peak, Venkatachala (Venkata Hill) of the Tirupati hill. The presiding deity of this temple is Lord Venkateshwara. The temple features the ancient scriptures like Shastras, Puranas and Sthala Mahatyams. This temple is said to be the only way to salvation (Moksha) in the Kali yuga (Dark Age) and a visit to this temple is recommended even in the ancient scriptures. Day 3 - Tirupati,Pondicherry

Today, you will drive to the city of Puducherry. \'Puducherry\' is the French interpretation of the original name \'Puducheri\' meaning \'new settlement\'. A trip to Puducherry is like a journey in time with a vibrant present celebrating its interesting past. On arrival, check-in to your hotel. Among its diverse attractions is a coastline of 32 kms, palm-fringed beaches, backwaters, fishing villages, beach resorts, the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, the international city of Auroville, the French boulevard town with its French heritage, and so on. Some great food, some fine wine, and a great adventure awaits you here. In the afternoon, visit the township of Auroville and the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Auroville is a township near Pondicherry, inspired by Aurobindo the revolutionary turned spiritual leader during India\'s struggle for freedom. The inspiration for Auroville arose in India, stemming from the writings of Sri Aurobindo and the encouragement of the Mother. This inspiration lead to the Sri Aurobindo Society, based in Pondicherry, persuading the Government of India in 1966 to accept and support the project, which was then put before UNESCO for its endorsement. Aurobindo called for spiritual regeneration of India as the path for rebirth of India. He started as a spiritual leader in Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry. Day 5 - Pondicherry,Thanjavur

Today, proceed to Thanjavur. Thanjavur derives its name from Tanjanan asura (giant), who according to local legend devastated the neighbourhood and was killed by Sri Anandavalli Amman and Vishnu. Sri Neelamegapperumal Tanjan\'s last request, that the city might be named after him was granted. Chola, Chera and Pandya kings were ruling Tamizhagam even before the Mahabharat period. In the afternoon, visit the famous Brihadeeshwara Temple built in the 10th century, adjacent to this is the Palace, housing the Tamil University Museum, the Art Gallery and the Saraswati Mahal Library which houses palm leaf and paper manuscripts. This temple is dedicated to Nandi, the bull, who is the vehicle of Lord Shiva. Regarded as \'the temple of temples\', the Brihadeeswara temple or Rajarajesvaram in the Thanjavur district, is not just an expression of artistic brilliance, but also a way of life. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the sheer scale of the all-stone Brihadeeswara temple, its height and architectural detailing make it an unrivalled paradigm of artistic expression in a temple.
