Central European country known for the forested region of Transylvania, preserved medieval towns such as Sighisoara and many fortified churches and castles, notably clifftop Bran Castle, long associated with the Dracula legend. The area is ringed by the Carpathian Mountains, which are popular for trekking, climbing, skiing and bathing in natural thermal spas. With its history dating back to 657 BC when it was a Greek colony called Tomis. The Romans conquered this area in 71BC and renamed it Constantiana, after the sister of Roman Emperor Constantin. During the 13th Century the town was developed by Italian merchants from Genova. A period of Ottoman rule then followed. After the war of independence in 1877 Constanta has risen to be the largest harbour in Romania and a key tourist location. Overnight in Bucharest

Day 4 - Bucharest

Breakfast at the hotel The day is free at leisure to explore the city on your own OR enjoy optional tour of TRANSYLVANIA CASTLES TOUR (12HRS) On this full day tour from Bucharest your guide will take you to Sinaia, Bran and Brasov to see the culture of Transylvania and Walachia. After a two-hour drive you will arrive at Sinaia and visit the monastery built in the 17th century by Mihail Cantacuzino, a ruling prince of Walachia, after his pilgrimage to Mount Sinai in Egypt. Next stop is Peles Castle, one of the most important museums in Romania where one can admire the beautiful architecture of the Castle, as well as the furniture and ornamental objects, carpets, tapestry, sculptures, paintings and rich collections of weapons of the 15th-19th centuries. Then your journey will continue to Bran to visit the famous Bran Castle (related to Dracula\'s legend). The Castle had a strategic mission being on the border between Transylvania and Walachia. It was governed by the King of Hungary Sigismund of Luxembourg, the Romanian Voievodes Mircea cel Batran and eventually Vlad Tepes (Dracula). The castle got its fame from Dracula's legend written in 1897 by Bram Stoker and later on made into a film by Francis Ford Coppola. After the tour of the castle, visit the medieval centre of Brasov with the impressive Black Church, the largest church in Europe between Vienna and Istanbul. After 3 hours drive you will be back to your hotel in Bucharest. Overnight in Bucharest

The great Danube River flows 1,788 miles from its springs in Germany's Black Forest to the Black Sea. Just before reaching the sea it forms the second largest and best preserved of Europe's deltas: 2,200 square miles of rivers, canals, marshes, tree-fringed lakes and reed islands. The Danube Delta is a wildlife enthusiast's (especially a bird watcher's) paradise. Without doubt, the impressive range of habitats and species which occupy a relatively small area makes the Danube Delta a vital center for biodiversity in Europe, and a natural genetic bank with great value for the global natural heritage. Once you arrive you will embark on a journey by boat along one of Danube's canals. Some 300 species of birds make Danube's Delta their home, including cormorants, white tailed eagles and glossy ibises. The bird watching season lasts from early spring to late summer. Birds are not the only inhabitants of the Delta. There is also a rich community of fish and animals, from wildcats, foxes and wolves, to even an occasional boar or deer. At 9am you will be picked up from your hotel. Our first stop will be at Curtea de Arges Monastery. After that we will go at Poienari Village, where the ruins of Vlad the Impaler's Castle is. After visiting, we will go at Vidraru, where we will have also a launch break, at a traditional local cuisine restaurant (vegetable dishes are also available). Around 18:00 we will go to Bucharest, when we will be around 20:30. We will ride your back at you hotel. At each sight we will spent enough time to visit also the surroundings.
