Enjoy a day at leisure in the capital of the oldest kingdom in the world. Besides many interesting landmarks and architectural masterpieces, see some of the more famous sites on your orientation drive, including the legendary Little Mermaid statue. An optional tour of Zealand\'s castles is also available. (B)
After breakfast, start the journey northwards, enjoying the drive across the GREAT BELT BRIDGE, which will connect you to the fairytale island of Funen. Stop in Odense, Hans Christian Andersen\'s hometown, and via the Little Belt waterway, head for Frederikshavn on the rural Jutland Peninsula. (B,D)
Take a pleasant FERRY ride from Frederikshavn across the strategic Kattegat to Gothenburg, Sweden\'s thriving second-largest city and one of Europe\'s major seaports. After an orientation drive, follow the inland route and cross into Norway. Evening arrival in Oslo. (B)
Gustav Vigeland\'s sculptures are among the highlights of the included Oslo sightseeing tour; also see the soaring CITY HALL, National Theater, Broadcasting House, Parliament, and Akershus Castle. In the afternoon, drive through the Telemark region, where you spend the night. (B,D)
Take the scenic route for a visit to Vemork, where the heavy water plant was blown up by a commando unit of British and Norwegians known as the Heroes of Telemark. Visit the VEMORK MUSEUM, then proceed through the Telemark region with its lakes, winding valleys, and rugged gorges backed by towering mountains. FERRY across the Hardangerfjord from Utne to Kvanndal. Continue to Bergen, Norway\'s picture-perfect Hanseatic seaport. En route, a picture stop at Steindalsfossen Waterfall. (B)
Built on seven hills with the fjords on one side and 1,000-foot Mount Floyen on the other, Bergen was the home of composer Grieg. Spend the day exploring at leisure, or join the optional sightseeing excursion, which takes in the main sites, including the Hanseatic Museum, one of the landmarks of Bergen\'s bayside area, and also a panoramic view of the city from one of the surrounding hills. More spectacular scenery as you drive towards the Sognefjord, where you embark for a breathtaking CRUISE on one of Norway\'s mightiest fjords. On to the Fagernes area. (B,D)
First to Lillehammer, the mountain resort that hosted the 1994 Winter Olympics, then, a scenic drive along beautiful Lake Mjosa. Continue towards Sweden, through Varmland\'s unspoiled wilderness of forest and lakes to Karlstad, located by Sweden\'s largest lake, Lake Vanern. (B)
Leave Karlstad and head east towards Stockholm via Alfred Nobel\'s Bofors to idyllic Mariefred. Here, view majestic Gripsholm Castle, built in an enchanting rural setting. On to the Swedish capital. Its beauty is due to its unique setting on 14 islands between Lake Maleren and the Baltic Sea. (B)
This is perhaps the most beautiful of the Scandinavian capitals, because the crystalline waters that flow through its intersecting canals give a luminous appearance to palaces, castles, and parks. Your included city sightseeing takes in all the highlights. (B,D)

Explore the delights of Scandinavia on a guided coach tour
Arrive Stockholm Airport and transfer on your own to hotel. (Note: We can book transfers at additional cost). The rest of the day is free at leisure. In the evening at 6 pm meet your tour escort for briefing who will stay with you for the rest of the tour. Overnight at the centrally located CLARION STOCKHOLM HOTEL or similar in STOCKHOLM.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. This morning proceed on a 3 hour guided tour of the Swedish capital. From Fj�¤llgatan you will have the view of Stockholm spread out on 14 islands connected by bridges. We will visit Gamla Stan, the old city with its narrow cobbled-stoned lanes, charming small squares, medieval buildings in happy colours, the Cathedral, and the Royal Palace. Afternoon at leisure or maybe join the optional tour to visit the City Hall - the place of the annual Nobel Prize banquet - and the fascinating Vasa Ship Museum with the unique wooden warship, which sank in Stockholm\'s harbour on its maiden voyage and was salvaged intact 333 years later. Overnight at CLARION STOCKHOLM HOTEL or similar in STOCKHOLM.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Today we start the journey by coach towards Norway passing open landscapes, dense forests and glittering lakes. We stop in the city of Karlstad, the capital of the province of Varmland beautifully located on the shores of Lake Varnern, the largest of Sweden\'s lakes. After crossing the border into Norway we continue to Hamar located by Norway\'s largest lake Mjosa. Dinner and overnight at SCANDIC HAMAR HOTEL or similar in HAMAR.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. First stop today is Lillehammer, where the 1994 winter Olympics took place. Northbound, we continue through the green, fertile farmland of Gudbrands Valley. In Lom we stop to see the amazing wooden stave church dating back to the 12th century. Our route continues via Grotli to Geiranger. A photo-stop is made before descending the hairpin curves to the village by the fjord. The fjord and the surrounding mountains give a unique and fabulous backdrop to your stay. Dinner and overnight at UNION HOTEL or similar in GEIRANGER.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Morning cruise on the UNESCO listed Geiranger Fjord with the impressive waterfalls \"the Bridal Veil\" and \"the Seven Sisters\". Continue to Briksdal Glacier. The last part of the journey up to the glacier will be in the motorized open Troll Cars, allowing you to enjoy the full panoramic view. After the glacier experience sit back in the coach and enjoy the views of mountains and fjords passing by as we drive towards Balestrand. Our route will take us through the Gaular Mountain National Park. Late afternoon we reach the beautiful resort Balestrand located on the shores of the fjord and surrounded by high mountains. This unique spot is a good candidate for the most beautiful place on earth. Dinner and overnight at historical KVIKNE\'S HOTEL or similar in BALESTRAND.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Ferry across to Hella and continue along the scenic coastal route to Manheller for a short ferry crossing to Fodnes. We then continue to Gudvangen, where we board a 2 hour mini-cruise of the Sogne Fjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world. Marvel at the landscape as we sail into the Naeroy fjord - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with small farms scattered on the steep hillsides of the fjord, cascading waterfalls and towering snow-clad mountains. Disembark in Flam and we continue with one of the most exceptional rail road trips in the world, the Flam Railway. With breath-taking views at every curve it will take you up to the mountain station of Myrdal where you will connect to your train to Voss where the coach awaits our arrival and take us to Bergen. Overnight in the heart of the city at ZANDER K HOTEL or similar in BERGEN.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. The guided tour of Bergen will take us to the famous open air fish market, stroll across to Bryggen where the traditional wooden medieval buildings still remain as in the times of the Hanseatic league. Time at leisure for shopping, having lunch and maybe taking the funicular to the top of Mount Fl�¸yen for a stunning view of Bergen In the early afternoon we continue towards the Hardanger Fjord with its romantic landscape of fruit orchards and rounded mountains. We make a stop at the impressive V�¸ringsfoss waterfall with has a vertical drop of 180 meters, before ascending the Hardanger Mountain Plateau and reaching the resort town of Geilo. Dinner and overnight at the historical STOREFJELL RESORT or similar in GEILO.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. This morning we head for Oslo, the capital of Norway, with arrival around noon. Some free time for lunch before going on the guided tour of Oslo. The guided tour takes you to the Frogner Park with the controversial sculptures of the famous Norwegian Gustav Vigeland. Other highlights of the tour area the Royal Palace, the medieval fortress Akershus, the modern Opera house, the City Hall etc. Remainder of the day free to explore Oslo, the pedestrian street Karl Johan and the lovely shopping and restaurant wharf Aker Brygge. Overnight at THON HOTEL OPERA or similar in OSLO.
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Morning free to continue exploring Oslo on your own, or maybe join the optional tour to visit some of the famous maritime museums such as the Viking Ships or the Polar ship Fram. Late afternoon transfer to the pier for embarkation of the DFDS Seaways overnight cruise to Copenhagen. Enjoy the view heading out through the Oslo Fjord from the deck or one of the caf�©s or bars onboard. Dinner tonight is the famous Scandinavian Smorg�¥sbord buffet on board the overnight cruise. Overnight in SEA-VIEW CABINS.
Breakfast buffet onboard as you sail into Copenhagen. Directly upon arrival in Copenhagen meet your local guide showing you some of the highlights on city tour of Copenhagen; the little Mermaid, the Gefion fountain, the royal residence Amalienborg Palace, Christianshavn and Nyhavn with its charming canals etc. Afternoon free to enjoy this fairy-tale city on your own. Farewell Dinner and overnight at RADISSON BLU SCANDINAVIA HOTEL or similar in COPENHAGEN.
