Day 1 - Guwahati

Welcome to your 'Super saver Meghalaya with Kaziranga' Tour! On arrival at the airport in Guwahati, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. En route visit Kamakhya Temple and Assam State Museum.

Kamakhya temple is a famous pilgrimage situated at Guwahati, Assam. The temple is located on the Nilachal hill in Guwahati about 8 kms from the railway station. The Kamakhya temple is dedicated to the tantric goddesses. Apart from the deity Kamakhya Devi, the compound of the temple houses 10 other avatars of Kali namely Dhumavati, Matangi, Bagola, Tara, Kamala, Bhairavi, Chinnamasta, Bhuvaneshwari and Tripuara Sundari. The Assam State Museum is located in the southern end of Dighali Pukhuri tank which is in the heart of Guwahati, Assam. The Museum was established by the Kamarupa Anusandhan Samiti in 1940. Day 2 - Kaziranga

After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park in the heart of Assam. Kaziranga National Park was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006 since it hosts the highest density of tigers amongst all protected areas in the world On arrival, check-in to your hotel.

Day 3 - Kaziranga

In the morning enjoy Elephant safari (Subject to operational at own cost).

Later afternoon, embark on a Jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park, one of the oldest national parks in India.It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site housing two-third of the world one-horned rhinoceros population. Birdlife International, a conservation organisation has identified Kaziranga National Park as an Important Bird Area owing to its wide variety of bird life.

Day 4 - Shillong

After breakfast, drive to Shillong, often known as the \'Scotland of the East\'. En route visit Umium Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills.

Day 5 - Shillong

After an early breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world, where you will see the beautiful waterfall known as Nohkalikai. At Nohkalikai Falls, you can enjoy the sight of water falling from 1,100 feet through the green forest. Trek through some of the amazing terrain and watch a great variety of birds You can also explore the caves known as Mawsmai.

Later in the evening, return to Shillong, en route visit the Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views.

Day 6 - Shillong

After breakfast, explore Mawlynnong,-the cleanest village in Asia. The Mawlynnong, a small village located at 90 km from Shillong near the Bangladesh border. The village is known for its cleanliness and has received international recognition as cleanest village in Asia in 2003 and cleanest village in India in 2005. The total 95 households from this village have 100 percent literacy. Mawlynnong look more beautiful during the monsoons, with lush greenery and waterfalls making it a true delight of nature. We will visit balancing rock and Living Root Bridge which is a single -tier living Root Bridge (made of the roots of a living tree), connecting a chasm with a pool of jade water below. Later, drive back towards shillong.

Day 1 - Shillong

Welcome to your 'Northeast Paradise' tour. On arrival at the airport/railway station in Guwahati, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Shillong.

Shillong became the first capital of the state of Meghalaya. Located in undulating pine covered hills, the city has a milder climate than tropical India. The city centre is 1496m above sea level and currently has a population of around 2,70,000. Home to several waterfalls, it is also known as theScotland of the East.

Day 2 - Shillong

After an early breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world where you will see the beautiful waterfall known as Nohkalikai. At Nohkalikai Falls, you can enjoy the sight of water falling from 1,100 feet through the green forest. Trek through some of the amazing terrain and watch a great variety of birds, you can also explore the caves known as Mawsmai.

Later, in the afternoon return to Shillong, en route visiting the Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views.

The Elephant water fall is situated 12 kms from Shillong, provide beautiful sights which attract tourist of all kinds. The water fall is divided into three steps, therefore the Khasi tribe named it as Ka Kshaid Lai Pateng Khohsiew, meaning Three Steps Water Falls.

The Shillong peak is on an altitude of 1965 m above sea level situated 10 kms from city, offers a spectacular panoramic view of city. This is also the highest point in the entire state.

After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park In the heart of Assam, covering an area of 430 sq-kms and is inhabited by the world\'s largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds. In 1985, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its unique natural environment.

Day 5 - Nameri

After breakfast, proceed to Nameri.

Nameri National Park is located in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas in the Sonitpur District of Assam. Pakhui (Pakke) Sanctuary of Arunachal Pradesh adjoins the park on its North-Eastern point. Together they constitute an area of over 1000 kmsof semi-evergreen forests with cane and bamboo brakes and narrow strips of open grassland along rivers. Nameri is a birder\'s paradise with over 300 species of birds.

After breakfast, proceed to Guwahati.

Guwahati is the capital city of Assam and is commonly referred to as the Gateway of Northeastern India.Guwahati lies between the banks of the Brahmaputra River and the foothills of the Shillong plateau. It is situated on the north eastern side of Assam, between the eastern hill flanks of the Himalayan ranges.

On arrival at Guwahati, check-in to your hotel.

Later in the afternoon, visit Kamakhya Temple.

Kamakhya temple is a famous pilgrimage situated at Guwahati, Assam. The Kamakhya temple is dedicated to the tantric goddesses. Kohima is the hilly capital of India\'s north eastern border state of Nagaland, which shares its borders with Burma. It lies in Kohima District and is one of the three Nagaland towns with Municipal council status along with Dimapur and Mokokchung. The town of Kohima is located on the top of a high ridge and the town serpentines along the top of the mountain ranges as is typical of most Naga settlements.

Day 5 - Kohima

After breakfast, proceed on a city tour of Kohima including visit to War Cemetary, State Museum and Naga Heritage Village.

War cemetery in Kohima is a symbolic memorial built in the memory of thousands of officers and brave soldiers who lost their life during World War II.

The State Museum is located 1.5 kilometers away from Kohima. It is established in the year 1970 by the Government of Nagaland. The State Museum which holds exhibit of the evolution of Naga culture is known as one of the major attractions in Kohima as well as Nagaland.

Situated about 10 kilometers from Kohima, the capital city of Nagaland, the Naga Heritage Village offers the panorama of Nagaland\'s tribal heritage and culture.

Later, visit Kigwema village. Kigwema is a large village located in Jakhama of Kohima district.

Day 6 - Imphal

After breakfast, proceed towards Imphal - the capital state of Manipur. On arrival, check in to your hotel.

Later afternoon, visit Kangla fort, situated on both sides (western and eastern) bank of the Imphal River. But now it remains only on the western side of the bank. The name Kangla stands for \'dehydrated ground\' in local Meitei (an ethnic group of Manipur). The fort was the customary place of the precedent Meitei sovereigns of Manipur.

After breakfast, proceed on an excursion to Bishnupur (also known as Bishenpur), a town in Bishnupur district in the state of Manipur. Visit Loktak Lake.

Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in north- eastern India, also called the only Floating lake in the world due to the floating phumdis on it. One can take a boat ride to Keibul Lamjao National Park by a country boat (on direct payment basis).

Later, drive back to Imphal.
