Day 1 - Mussoorie

Welcome to your 'Heritage of Uttarakhand' tour! On arrival at the airport / railway station in Delhi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Mussoorie.

The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this beautiful hill station. Overnight in Mussoorie. (Meals on your own)

Day 2 - Mussoorie

This morning, enjoy a visit to Kempty Falls and Gun Hill Point. Kempty Falls, is a popular and picturesque waterfall. It is the largest of the five cascades in the valley that plummets 4,500 ft. from the mountains to flow down into the plains. Owing to its panoramic surroundings, a British officer known as John Mekinan developed this spot as a tourist destination in 1835. The site offers swimming and fishing activities as well.

Later, visit the second highest peak of Mussoorie, Gun Hill which offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks of Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara, Gangotri (source of the Ganges River) and a bird\'s eye view of Mussoorie town and Doon Valley. Situated at an altitude of 400 ft. above the Mall, it houses the water reservoir of the hill station.

The rest of day is at leisure to relax or one can enjoy a cable car ride from Mall road to the Gun Hill point on direct payment basis. Overnight in Mussoorie (B)

Day 3 - Mussoorie

Today, proceed for an excursion to the scenic spot of Dhanaulti followed by a visit to Mossy Falls.

Dhanaulti, is a hill station 24 km from the popular hill station of Mussoorie.This magnetic hill station is situated c views of the Mossy Falls, a beautiful waterfall, surrounded by a dense forest is a renowned picnic spot.

Day 4 - Mussoorie,Haridwar

This morning, drive to Haridwar, en route visit the Triveni Ghat and Laxman Jhula at Rishikesh. The Triveni Ghat, located in the heart of town, is the site of the confluence of three holy rivers namely Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. It is one of the most famous bathing ghats, where most pilgrims take a holy dip and offer prayers before visiting the various temples.

The Laxman Jhula which is built over the holy river Ganges is one of the most prominent landmarks of Rishikesh. It is named after Lakshman, the younger brother of Lord Ram, who as per legend used this bridge to cross the Ganga.

Then, continue your journey towards Haridwar which is less than an hour away from Rishikesh. On arrival, check in to the hotel.

In the evening, participate in the 'Traditional Ganga Aarti' at Har-Ki-Pauri. Thousands of devotees gather here and worship the holy river by offering countless flickering lamps and flower garlands. Overnight in Haridwar. (B)

Day 5 - Haridwar,Corbett

This morning, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Haridwar visiting places like the Mansa Devi Temple, Daksha Mahadev Temple and Mahamrityunjaya Temple . Mansa Devi Temple - The temple of wish-fulfilling goddess Mansa Devi is located atop the Bilwa Parvat on Shivalik Hills, offering panoramic views of Haridwar. It is very popular with pilgrims who flock here in hopes of getting their wishes granted. A ropeway with its brightly coloured cable cars connects the town to the temple.

Daksha Mahadev Temple - The ancient temple of Daksha Mahadev, devoted to the Hindu Lord Shiva, is located in Kankhal, which is one of the five sacred places (Panch Tirthas) around Haridwar. First built in 1810 AD, it was reconstructed in 1962. An idol of Shiva in phallic form is installed in the middle of the temple. One of the main attractions is the holy fire pyre.

Mahamrityunjaya Temple - The Maha Mrityunjay Mantra or Lord Shiva Mantra is measured very powerful and significant by the Hindus. Also famous as the Moksha Mantra of Lord Shiva, chanting of Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is said to create divine vibrations that heals. Maha Mrityunjay is one more temple in Haridwar.

Later, continue your drive to Corbett. On arrival, check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities. Overnight in Corbett (B, D)

Day 6 - Corbett

The day is at leisure to relax or one can enjoy a jungle safari at the Corbett National Park. Corbett National Park is home to about 50 species of mammals, 25 species of reptiles and about 580 bird species. It is named after the British-Indian naturalist and hunter, Jim Corbett who played an important role in creating this national reserve.

Note: Corbett National Park remains open throughout the year for the visitors from Jhirna zone but the best time to visit Corbett is from 15th November to 15th June. Overnight in Corbett (B, D)

Day 7 - Corbett

Today, bid farewell to your 'Heritage of Uttarakhand' tour, as you get transferred from hotel in Corbett to the airport / railway station in Delhi for your onward journey.

Hanuman Garhi is a famous temple dedicated to the mighty Lord Hanuman, it is perched at a height of 6,401 ft., about 3.5 km from Nainital.

Today morning drive to Kausani, about 6000+ ft above sea level , a tiny and serene hill-station famous for its well-preserved natural beauty and 250 km-wide views of the Himalayan snow-peaks. On arrival, check in to the hotel.

Day 5 - Kausani

This morning, proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of Kausani, visiting places like <b>Baijnath Temple and the Anashakti Ashram.</b><br><br>

<b>Baijnath Temple</b> - situated on the banks of the Gomti river, 19 km away from Kausani. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Baijnath temple here was built thousands of years ago and can still be admired for its carvings and sculptures. The temple is made up of a cluster of
Shiv-Parvati. It is believed that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were married here. Later, proceed to Anashakti Ashram. It is here that Mahatma Gandhi stayed in the year 1929 for 14 days. Since his stay here, the place is called as "Gandhi ashram". The Father of the Nation wrote his book on 'Anashakti Yoga', while he was residing at the ashram.<br><br>

Today, drive to Ranikhet to visit the Chaubatia Gardens which boasts of more than 200 exotic varieties of fruits and flowers. Drive past the Kalika Estate and Golf Course, one of the highest golf courses in India, the Army Golf course is situated close to the Upat Kalika Temple. Located in the Kumaon hills,. Later, proceed to Corbett. On arrival, check in to the hotel.

Shiv-Parvati. It is believed that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were married here. Later, proceed to Anashakti Ashram. It is here that Mahatma Gandhi stayed in the year 1929 for 14 days. Today, you will visit the Naina Devi Temple and Hanuman Garhi.

The Naina Devi Temple - is located on the northern end of the picturesque Naini Lake. The temple is devoted to the Hindu Goddess Naina Devi along with her statue, it also enshrines the idols of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Kali.

Hanuman Garhi - is a famous temple dedicated to the mighty Lord Hanuman, perched at a height of 6,401 ft., about 3.5 km from Nainital. Baba Neem Karoli, a local saint built the temple in 1950. This scenic spot offers a majestic view of the sunrise and sunset.

The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the beautiful hill station of Nainital. One can opt to visit the Mall Road where one can shop for local products or the Tibetan market which is famous for its unique candle collection in various shapes, wooden artifacts, ethnic clothing, tiny wooden boats, huge pieces of detailed art etc.

Today, proceed towards the popular hill station of Ranikhet. Located in the Kumaon hills, Ranikhet is a cool, quiet and serene hill station. Surrounded by the picturesque ambience, Ranikhet offers panoramic views of the Himalayas, ancient temples, picnic spots and exciting trekking options.

On arrival, check in to the hotel in Ranikhet.

This afternoon, explore the hilly town of Ranikhet. The town is named after the queen of Raja Sukherdev - Rani Padmini. Explore the temples and the wonderful sights in Ranikhet such as the Army Golf Course maintained by the Kumaon Regimen. Ranikhet is also popular for its fruit orchard of Chaubatia, a government fruit garden. The orchard grows over 200 varieties of alpine fruits and flowers.

This morning, enjoy a visit to Kempty Falls and Gun Hill Point.

The 40-foot Kempty Falls, is a popular and picturesque waterfall. It is the largest of the five cascades in the valley that plummets 4,500 ft. from the mountains to flow down into the plains. Owing to its panoramic surroundings, a British officer known as John Mekinan developed this spot as a tourist destination in 1835. The site offers swimming and fishing activities as well.

Later, visit the second highest peak of Mussoorie, Gun Hill which offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks of Bunder punch, Srikantha, Pithwara, Gangotri (source of the Ganges River) and a bird's eye view of Mussoorie town and Doon Valley. Situated at an altitude of 400 ft. above the Mall, it houses the water reservoir of the hill station.

The rest of day is at leisure, one can enjoy a cable car ride from Mall road to the Gun Hill point on direct payment basis.
