The Grand Residencia is a three-star heritage hotel, located on Princess Street at Fort Kochi (Fort Cochin, the idyllic and heritage quarter of the city of Kochi (Cochin. This 140-year old heritage hotel with a mixture of Portuguese and Kerala architecture has a unique legacy. It originally belonged to a famous Jewish businessman, Mr. Koder, who built this house in the Portuguese colony of Fort Kochi in 1868. Subsequently, his family moved to Israel, and this property changed many hands, till it was renovated and restored as a heritage hotel a few years ago. This hotel has managed to keep the old charm alive even after a century - the open courtyard, long verandas, typical Portuguese doors and windows, and traditional hospitality, where every guest is equated with God even today.
