This heritage home is steeped in history, belonging to the family of Andrew Pereira, a Portuguese sailor who accompanied the erstwhile explorer, Vasco da Gama, to Cochin in 1502. Today, this 75-year old traditional home offers exclusive and elegant accommodation in a serene, tranquil setting, replete with old-world charm, modern luxuries and the breathtaking beauty of the rich, emerald bounty of Kerala. For those interested in some deep-rooted heritage, the name 'Anthraper' comes from the word 'Anthara Periyavar' used to denote a person of high nobility. The property is surrounded by the lush, dark backwaters of the Vembanad Lake on three sides with a private boat jetty and a sprawling, 6000 sq. ft. landscaped garden with fruit trees and swaying coconut palms.
