Built by the British in their typical style during the Raj in India, this mansion was a favourite haunt of many British Officers who visited Darjeeling as a summer retreat from the heat. This beautiful heritage property has recently been completely restored to its original splendor by the present owners, the Dekeva family. Today, this property is frequented by vacationers from all around the world and honeymooners looking for privacy and peace in this beautiful hill station. The town with its humble beginning started with the monastery on Observatory Hill and a few other huts. It was inaugurated in 1839 by Caption Lloyd and Dr. Chapman.
